What problem does the WundApp solve?
Patients who require regular wound care are often under-served in Austria. Healthcare professionals such as wound managers, physicians, and nursing staff are in short supply, while the number of affected individuals continues to rise. The result is long waiting times, inefficient treatment processes, and preventable complications.
The WundApp addresses this issue by digitalizing and improving wound care. In close collaboration with the Austrian Society for Digital Medicine (ÖGDM), a platform has been developed that combines medical expertise with cutting-edge digital technology. Its goal is to support both patients and healthcare professionals and to sustainably optimize care.

The WundApp provides a central, secure, and user-friendly platform for documenting, monitoring, and analyzing wounds. Medical professionals can easily record healing progress, upload images, and use integrated AI algorithms to automatically assess wound conditions.
Continuous monitoring and secure data exchange improve communication between patients and caregivers. Physicians and nursing staff have an up-to-date overview of the wound’s status at any time—even without an in-person appointment.
This makes care more efficient, transparent, and patient-centered.
